Connection and planning days enhance cohesion of a dispersed new legal service.

Challenge

This legal services branch within a large government Department provides legal advice and services (including litigation support) and legislation services to Ministers, the Secretary, the department’s divisions, and some agencies related to, or engaged by, the Department. 

With over 120 staff geographically dispersed across the state of Victoria, the senior leadership team were keen to bring the group together to build and deepen connections, create clarity regarding the strategic direction of the branch and to create space to engage in deep dive discussions and build capability.

What Zing & Co did

In 2022, Zing & Co partnered with the LSB senior leadership team to design and deliver the inaugural full day Branch-wide offsite focussed on connecting and building relationships across the Branch, building a shared understanding of the branch vision and strategic map, and building confidence in how each group would contribute to implementing strategic objectives in the coming year.

Due to the success of this inaugural offsite, Zing & Co has been re-engaged to design and facilitate the annual branch day each year since.
